What is the wedding going to cost?

Set the number of guests and how lavish the day should be, and get a starting point split across the line items the money actually goes to. The numbers are an estimate for a Norwegian wedding — they are here to give you an order of magnitude to start negotiating from.

Adults who eat and sit at the table.

Read this before taking the number seriously

  • The venue and the food are almost always more than half the budget, and the two are connected: many venues require you to use their own kitchen.
  • The estimate assumes guests pay for their own travel and accommodation, as Norwegian weddings usually do.
  • Rings, clothes and the photographer are the three line items couples most often underestimate — and the three hardest to cut afterwards.
  • Put in a buffer. Something always comes on top, and it is easier to have set the money aside than to find it in May.

Put the split into Kuvert

The budget in the planner takes the line items further: estimate against real price, who is to be paid, and when the bill falls due. Then you also know what has been paid and what is still owed.
